The new Z 4 E and Z 5 E portable bandsaws are the innovative successors to the legendary Z 3. Owing to a new, high-output motor and magnesium die-cast components, their persuasive benefits include reduced weight (Z 4 E 13.5 kg, Z 5 E 13.7 kg), enhanced performance, higher torque and excellent handling. The shorter arm of the Z 4 E gives rise to a maximum cutting depth of 225 mm. For thicker work, the otherwise identical Z 5 E offers an impressive cutting depth of 305 mm.

The precision that typifies MAFELL portable bandsaws enables the Z 4 E and Z 5 E to execute extremely clean and perfectly square cuts.

• The cooling air of the high-performance motor is utilized to blow away dust from the mark. As a consequence, chips are kept well away from your head and you maintain a clear view of the mark at all times.

• The unique tilting blade guide allows right-angle cuts to be made up to 90 mm deep without the opposite side of the blade touching the wood, e.g. when cutting lapped joints.

• The motor develops generous torque and delivers an output of 2100 Watt. The continuously variable speed range, from 650 to 1550 rpm, ensures compliance with individual requirements and applications.

• The mechanical safety brake is engaged by the combined brake/off switch and, like the built-in voltage drop circuit, further enhances safety.

• The back-toothed blade facilitates retraction from the cut, which is especially easy if the blade is locked by the mechanical brake.

• With a spring-mounted and tensioned idler wheel, changing blades is an easy and quick procedure.

Thanks to high torque, solid wood and cutting depths up to 225 and 305 mm respectively are not a problem for the Z 4 E and Z 5 E.
