Mafell Introduces New Portable Circular Saw
April 22, 2005 — MAFELL introduces a new portable circular saw, the MKS 130 E, for carpenters. Besides its compact and dynamic design, this premium tool features performance, efficiency and precision.
MAFELL's Marketing manager Ralf Kohler explains, "We improved the engineering and functionality and the result is a high-end saw capable of satisfying the most stringent requirements."
The saw's motor is a high-torque CUprex motor with performance-optimized digital electronics in order to generate ample reserve power, especially for longitudinal cuts in solid timber. Its speed is continuously variable according to the nature of the work. Newly developed control technology not only improves handling and behavior, but also provides smooth starting, speed reduction, constant speeds under load, and overload protection.
Product development at MAFELL always takes the needs of the tradesman into account. In this case, the design has been thoroughly reworked to eliminate most of the surfaces exposed to dust or chips. This portable circular saw is also very well equipped to operate in harsh environments, thanks to the use of extremely rugged and high-quality materials, including the lightweight magnesium diecast housing and impact-resistant, fiber glass-reinforced plastic components.
This circular saw offers a cutting depth of 130 mm, and thanks to its innovative tilting system, it still achieves a maximum depth of 94 mm at an angle of 45°. An integrated blower ensures clear visibility of the marking pointer at all times. Another highlight of the design is the simple height adjustment, which allows the desired cutting depth to be set with a control wheel and highly legible scale.
Ralf Kohler explains, "The MKS 130 E satisfies all the requirements that arise in traditional and modern carpentry: cross and rip cuts in wood or insulating materials are easily executed thanks to the availability of appropriate accessories."
MAFELL has once again developed a portable circular saw that is sure to become a constant companion of carpenters for many years to come.
