MAFELL KSS 300 Cross-Cutting System

March 29, 2005 — Mafell announces the KSS 300 system, which offers precise cutting in a small package.

Mafell's cross-cutting system embraces the functions of several machines in a single unit. First, it is a handy high-performance portable circular saw with a cutting depth of 40 mm. Its load-bearing components are extremely tough magnesium castings, which achieve a remarkably light weight of just 2.9 kg. The KSS 300 is especially maneuverable and offers ample power for a wide range of applications, from normal free-hand sawing to precise shadow gaps with a minimum gap width of 11.5 mm.

"The new, versatile KSS 300 cross-cutting system has been designed to give tradesmen just what they need for internal finishing work: accurate miter and square cuts executed quickly without lots of accessories. We also aimed to minimize the machine's weight and dimensions," explains MAFELL's marketing manager, Ralf Kohler.

Thanks to the quick catch, the portable circular saw is fastened to the KSS system rail in a matter of seconds. In this configuration, woodworkers can execute bevel, plunge, and angled cuts easily and quickly. The woodworker's task is made even easier by a series of clever details, including exact scale markings, locking angle settings, and easy-to-operate tilting and adjusting mechanisms. It is a machine that facilitates swift and precise work.

In addition, the circular saw can be operated on the compact, roll-up Flexi-Guide, made of special steel, to execute precise guided cuts up to 1.4 m long. Last but not least, this high-power package is neatly accommodated in the MAFELL-MAX carrying case, which is no larger than a conventional tool case.
